We received a request to remove burrs from the runner section directly below the gate.
If molding continues with burrs present, the mold will gradually dent as it receives the clamping pressure of the molding machine while the burr resin is trapped inside. More burrs will then enter the dented gap, creating a vicious cycle where the dent becomes deeper and wider. This phenomenon is referred to as "burr growth" by industry professionals. We recommend taking countermeasures as soon as possible if burrs occur. In this case, we used our laser welding machine to restore the cutting shape and adjust the butt joint.

The area directly below the gate of an injection molding die is where the greatest injection pressure is applied.
We modified the design by setting a wider width for the build-up material and increasing the number of butt joint surfaces of the mold.
Our company has a system in place to handle everything from mold design to finishing,
We can also handle partial repairs of molds manufactured by other companies.
