We have created highly accurate drawings and digitized one-of-a-kind handmade molds.

The "mold" is the key element of an automatic punching machine. This time, we were in charge of a project to create precise drawings from a one-of-a-kind item that was handmade by a skilled craftsman.

■ Challenge: "Craftsmanship" that cannot be reproduced

Because automatic punching machines punch out hundreds of sheets of paper or film at once, the dies must be sharp all around and have precise uniformity in height.
However, it was extremely difficult to make spare handmade molds, and there was a risk that any damage or wear would directly lead to a stoppage of the production line.

■ Solution: Measurements in 1/100mm increments and material selection

We measure the actual shape of the product precisely to the nearest hundredth (0.01 mm), and then recreate the exquisite curves and edges of the craftsmanship as digital data.
Furthermore, we have reselected the optimal "material" and "hardness" to withstand heavy loads, and created drawings for next-generation specifications with improved durability.

■ Benefits: Stable supply of high-quality spare parts

Drawing up the design makes it possible to create an "exactly identical preliminary mold," which was previously difficult. Utilizing the quality of craftsmanship, we add stability to the industrial product. That is our reverse engineering.
